March on Stress Director, Professor Neil Greenberg, is presenting to a conference at the Police Federation of England and Wales today.
He will talk to delegates about the organisational management of traumatic events and what works and what doesn’t in terms of prevention, detection and treatment.
March on Stress works closely with a number of UK police forces to deliver trauma risk management (TRiM) training.
An academic paper was published in 2013 into the use of TRiM by Cumbria Constabulary following the tragic shootings by Derrick Bird in 2010. Among the findings in the report were that the use of TRiM had a positive effect on sickness and absence levels. Click here to access the full paper.
As well as being used by UK police forces, TRiM has been implemented in a number of ambulance, NHS and Fire services and by organisations in commercial industry – in media, security and oil and gas.
