A systematic review has been undertaken to examine evidence of stigma-related barriers to mental health seeking in the armed forces.
Findings from the review of qualitative studies showed there was substantial evidence of a negative relationship between stigma and help seeking for mental health difficulties within the armed forces - further evidence that stigma makes people less likely to seek help for mental health issues.
The review follows an earlier study in 2015 which focused on quantitative research.
