We are delighted to confirm our StRaW all comers training in July will go ahead – with the training to be provided remotely via live training software due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and uncertainty around travel and hotel accommodation.
We have run a number of courses this way in the past few weeks, and found it to work effectively with very good feedback from delegates.
We look forward to returning to face to face all comers training when restrictions allow but this offers a good short-term alternative to enable personnel to complete the StRaW training.
Training dates are:
7th-8th July – Two-day StRaW Practitioners course
9th July – One-day StRaW Managers course (only available to delegates who have completed StRaW Practitioner training in the previous year)
We will provide course materials electronically and send a link to access the training. Delegates will need access to a computer or tablet with camera and microphone.

What is StRaW?
StRaW is an evidence-based peer support programme that enables trained StRaW Practitioners to detect and prevent mental health issues experienced by colleagues at work.
StRaW Practitioners undergo specific training allowing them to understand the impact that various stressors, whether from work or home, have upon their colleagues. They are not ‘stress experts’, counsellors or therapists but their training allows them to understand confidentiality and be able to actively listen and offer practical advice and assistance.
StRaW was developed based on the long-established and evidence-based approach to traumatic stress in the workplace – TRiM (trauma risk management). March on Stress Managing Director, Professor Neil Greenberg, is one of the experts who developed StRaW.
Professor Greenberg said: “StRaW provides a structured framework for dealing with non-traumatic stress within the workplace.
“It goes beyond providing information about mental health and provides delegates with skills to carry out a structured risk assessment and the skills to provide simple mentoring interventions to those who appear to be at risk of suffering mental health problems.”
