March on Stress TRiM training now BTEC accredited

Added on the 7th February 2013

March on Stress is the first and only Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) training provider to be accredited as providing nationally-recognised BTEC qualifications linked to its TRiM training courses.

TRiM by March on Stress is a trauma-focussed peer support system that trains peers to spot the signs of operational stress (including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)) in their colleagues, and then signpost them to find the early help they need.

Now, for the first time, March on Stress TRiM Practitioners have the opportunity to gain a level 3 BTEC Advanced Award Supporting Trauma Risk Management and March on Stress TRiM Managers can now gain a level 5 BTEC Professional Award Supporting Trauma Risk Management.

Roy Scott MBE, March on Stress Operations Director, said: “Anyone who has successfully completed an approved TRiM course understands its value in the prevention, detection and early treatment of operational stress, including PTSD. Now, though, those people who have completed the training can officially demonstrate their understanding of the TRiM process with a nationally-recognised, transferable qualification, which can count towards further education.”

March on Stress is able to offer anyone who has undertaken a March on Stress/BTEC-approved TRiM course (Practitioner or Manager) in the last two years the opportunity to qualify for the relevant BTEC qualification. This means that past and present March on Stress TRiM students who can complete the BTEC assignment will be able to gain the relevant qualifications.

Roy, who was awarded his MBE for his contribution to trauma risk management while serving with the Royal Marines, continued: “March on Stress has always prided itself on the quality of its TRiM training – we only use experienced trauma risk management experts and our trainers have the right skills and experience to deliver a first rate training experience – we are delighted that all our course delegates can now demonstrate their commitment to the TRiM principles by gaining a nationally recognised qualification.”

March on Stress provides TRiM training to both public and private sector organisations, including the emergency services; HM Government; land and maritime security companies; media organisations; and oil and gas companies. All March on Stress lead trainers have both national teaching and assessors’ qualifications.
